Vendors are allowed in the market area any time after 3pm To set up. If you are able to come for 3:30pm to help set up and get the BBQ out of storage, our booth is right behind the walking path (old railway) and is the closest booth to Hwy 26. Look for the pylons, we are number 32. Tent and tables are already there but still need to be set up and the BBQ should be heating up by 4pm. Market opens at 4:30 but a lot of people come early.
Two Grand to Foodland tickets have arrived! I will arrange for drop off/pick up with members and establishments that have agreed to sell them on our behalf.
I think this is going to be very successful :)
Foodland has agreed to have tickets at the store for sale, but will not be actively selling them. At least we can promote it as a pick up location. I will also ask other local businesses if they will display/sell them for us.
If you know of any other establishments that would like some tickets to sell, let me know and I can drop some off, or we can get you some extras to deliver.
Draw date will be our first meeting of the 2025-2026 year, September 4,2025 at 7:30pm.
The Kin Canada Bursary Committee has approved our bursary applicant to receive $1000 from the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. I have notified Jacoba Lynn Talbot by email and a letter sent by Canada Post. Kin Canada will be contacting her as well near the end of June. Hopefully we get the opportunity to present her the cheque and get a photo with her. I will keep you posted.
As previously mentioned the 2025 Kin Canada National Convention will be in Kingston from August 13-16.
I have a room booked that will sleep 4, so let me know if you would like to join me for all or a few of the nights. I will add a page with Convention details that you can find in the same drop down as this page.
I encourage anyone who doesn’t have their Smart Serve or Food Handling Certificate to obtain one or both. If more of us have these designations, it will be useful if we choose to offer bartending or catering services in the future. Not to mention for the Market and Ball Tourney food and alcohol.
